411th Civil Affairs Battalion Lends A Hand

Humanitarian Aid Distributed In Joint Effort

There was nothing but smiles on the faces of the citizens near Camp Striker during the humanitarian food distribution on April 6 and 7th. Soldiers from both Coalition Forces and Iraqi Security Forces turned out in force, handing out materials supplies, food and water to grateful and smiling Iraqi citizens who came to the distribution points.

Multiple pallets of water, food and various items of hygiene were given out during two separate drops. The materials and supplies were given out among the citizens of Qadasiyah apartments, and at a school located at Al Askery.

Both locations are in the vicinity of Mahmudiyah.

Members of the coalition 411th Civil Affairs Battalion attached to soldiers with 101st airborne, 3rd BCT, 320th Field Artillery, 3rd Battalion gave support and assistance to Iraqi Troops from the 6th Iraqi Army Division, 25th brigade, 2nd battalion.

The villagers were grateful, and it was a successful operation from the word go. “All of the supplies were distributed to everyone who wanted help, no one went without, said one coalition soldier. The distribution was a direct result of the interaction between the coalition and the local Sheikhs, who have been open to discussions and meeting with coalition forces.

The Security situation continues to settle, with peace and calm the watchword of the day. Daily patrols in the region are handles.
