New Facility To Benefit Rule Of Law In Province
The new Justice Center in Rusafa has been completed and will serve to assist the rule of law in the region. The rule of law took a large step forward recently as the completion of the Justice Center was acknowledged by Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki, who arrived to dedicate the courthouse.
The US Ambassador to Iraq, Ryan Crocker and General David Petraeus joined the Prime Minister, and the Rusafa Justice Center ceremony dedicated the courthouse for its use in the Iraqi Court system.
Prime Mininster Al Maliki spoke for about 30 minutes about the different types of new facilities that have been constructed, and the success in re establishing the rule of law in Iraq.
Ambassador Crocker also addressed the crowd and acknowledged the success of coalition operations, and their continued support in the region.
This is a state of the courthouse and it will serve a prototype for all of the new courthouses that are being designed in Iraq. The Iraqi Department of Justice has been funded by the Iraqi Reconstruction Fund, and there is a lot of energy in a positive direction from the associated coalition and Iraqi Department of Justice.
It is a brand new courthouse, and the justice center is going to be the new cornerstone to any strong Iraqi courthouse. It will benefit over a million people in the Baghdad region.
