Army Aviation Fleet Aircraft Careers

The United States Army works to maintain and operate one of the most complex fleet of aircraft in the world. The US Army aviation is second only to its sister services, the US Navy and US Air force in equipment and technology. It is a large fleet of combat planes, passenger, transport and supply aircraft, helicopter and various other aircraft. These are craft that can perform a large number of missions and Army flights to perform safe and operational mission tempo and military readiness.

Becoming a Army Aviation specialist and Aviation Operations is a detailed and highly technical career. You will be responsible to provide and prepare flight information for ground crews and aircrew members. These craft fly missions and perform Army operations each and every day. Accurate information and flight details help keep these functions efficient and operations safe. The US Army Operations Aviation Specialist is a career that lends itself well to type A personalities, if you are good with people and a hard worker, this may be a career field for you.

You will work to coordinate flight plans, alert emergency flight crews of emergency conditions and to safeguard classified materials. If you want to become a US Army Operations Aviation specialist, then training begins with Basic Combat Training for 9 weeks. You will work to perform scheduling aircraft, as well as dispatching various US Army military missions, both supply and tactical missions. You will also learn how to deal with crash and tactical rescue systems, and how to review and prepare technical reports.You will work with personnel on various levels and you will deal with many different types of situations in flight and aircraft scheduling. After your basic training you will advance to Aviation Operations individual advanced training, where you will spend 6 weeks in simulated combat situations, as well as classroom training.

You will keep logs of outgoing and incoming flights, and work to post and interpret weather reports. This is a detailed job, requiring good organizational and aptitude skills, if you have an interest or aptitude in computers, and work well with office machinery this may be an ideal job selection for you. You will deal with flight personnel, and give flight assignments as detailed by your command.
