Bradley Infantry Vehicle Support Careers

One of the most beneficial Infantry vehicles created in the last fifty years is the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. It comes in several different types, but they are all based on the basic Bradley Infantry Vehicle model.

The Bradley Fighting Vehicle repairer and maintainer is a field that works on several different varieties of the Army Bradley Fighting Vehicle, including the A2/A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, the M2/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle and the Bradley M-7 Fighting Infantry Support Team. You will be trained to function as a trained repair team member. You will learn how to troubleshoot problems that are part of the repair and maintenance departments daily routine.

You will train in simulated and actual battle conditions. You will be trained in becoming familiar with the knowledge, practices and safety requirements for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. As you advance and rise in rank and rate you will be responsible to supervise and train junior members.

Some of the duties you may have as a maintainer and Bradley Fighting Vehicle maintainer includes troubleshooting various complex system problems, in the diesel or electrical engines, in the brake system, electrical systems, or suspension, steering or body systems. You will work to become an expert in learning about your specific Bradley Fighting vehicle unit.

You will also become familiar with the Bradley transmission and engine assemblies and be tasked in specific repair procedures and techniques. You will learn about how to replace major Bradley assemblies, including fire control and the turret operations. You will be responsible for servicing, inspecting, adjusting, testing, replacing, repairing, purging, and identifying systems and their components on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle.

You will perform individual advanced training, both in the field and in the classroom. You will learn basic engine tune up and repair, how to replace radiators, fenders and body panels. If you are good with your hands, and enjoy working with tools, you may be very successful establishing and following Bradley Vehicle maintenance schedules. You will work both in the field and in the classroom to receive your training.

You will work hard training in Basic Combat training, where you will learn about the basic soldiering skills needed in the Army. After that you will progress into advanced training, and how to identify and troubleshoot electrical problems and mechanical problems in the Bradley Fighting Vehicles.
