Choosing The Right College For You

September 18, 2008 By admin

Enlisting in the military is one method to see the world and to travel. As a member of the US military, there are a number of different locations that you can access and visit during your military career. Some of the different locations that you will visit are genuine, and some places in the world are sort of shallow, almost a fa?ade. Just as it is possible to find places that are sort of shallow, it is also possible to find different universities and colleges that are false. These colleges and universities are simply diploma mills that do not give actual diplomas that have any worth, but are sold and are relatively worthless.

There are a high number of colleges and universities that are genuine, and there are those that are simply ?Diploma Mills,? Here are some of the things to be aware of: Transferability- One of the best methods to make sure that a college is genuine is to determine if their courses are transferable. Most Universities and colleges have some sort of transfer policy, but it is important to figure out if the credits you take will transfer to other schools. It may not seem like all that important of an issue, but it is vital to helping determine if a school is valid, and if their degrees are worth the paper they are printed on. Accreditation- The most important thing to determine is if your college or university is properly accredited. There are six different regional accreditation groups in the United States. The US Counsel of Higher Education and Accreditation and the United States Department of Education work to license colleges and universities in the United States. Delivery Method- It used to be that the method of delivery was important, but now different methods of delivery have become more of an issue of convenience for the student than anything else. Distance learning has become more widely accepted, and more and more institutions around the world offer Internet, correspondence and other course delivery. Now, whether you attend in person or by long distance, you should choose the institution and program that fits your schedule, your interests and your goals and select the school that is the best fit.

Military Friendly- Most schools are friendly to the military, but it is one of the elements that you should check out. If you are thinking of attending college after enlistment in the military, you should know. A few schools and colleges are unfriendly, and it is one of the factors that you should be aware of.
