Joint ISF And Coalition Efforts Assist In Anti Insurgency Goals
The overall success of the War on Terror in Iraq has been a gradual process, but it has been a issue that has triumphed over the insurgents and terrorists. The ability to limit and shut down the terrorist activity in Iraqi has been one of the wins that has resulted in the victory over the terrorists.
Over the last year there has been 26 different major terrorist leaders that have been seized or slain, and it has worked to gain the confidence of the local population more than anything. Members of Al Qaeda that have escaped notice or previously remained wanted have been caught, killed or eliminated by chasing them out of Iraq.
Slowly, the tide has turned, and it has given the Government of Iraq the crucial edge it has required to earn the trust of the populace, and the trust of the members of the Iraqi Military. Slowly Al Qaeda has been turned back, and the local population has been able to rest easier, knowing that they are safer, and that members of their own Iraqi Army and Security Forces have grown to the point where they can defend their own country.
Now, the emphasis has been focused on rebuilding, and working on the infrastructure of the nation of Iraq as a whole. This has been successful and is a large part due to the cooperation between the coalition and the Iraqi Security Forces.
