Corporations That Recognize May is National Military Appreciation Month

May 17, 2017 By larryf

We are right in the middle of National Military Appreciation Month. While the military gets an entire month, we really should appreciate their service all year long. However, during the month of May, many companies offer additional discounts for military members, their families and even veterans.

Home Depot

If you’re a veteran and you shop at Home Depot on Memorial Day, Veterans Day or Independence Day, you will receive a 10% discount. Those currently in the military, along with military retirees and disabled veterans receive the discount every day of the year.

Oakley Standard Issue

The Oakley military website offers discounts to active-duty, Coast Guard, National Guard, reserve and veterans all year long.

Hilton

Stay at one of the Hilton brand hotels and receive a 10% discount as an active, retired or reserve service member. This discount is also given to spouses and families of service members.

Red Roof Inn

Red Roof Inn also offers a 10% discount to veterans year-round.

Disney – Armed Forces Salute Program

All active-duty and retired military members and their families received military promotional tickets good through mid-December. The ticket deals include (updated April 2019):

  • Walt Disney World 4-Day Military Promotional Ticket – $241
  • Disney World 5-day Military Promotional Ticket – $257
  • Disneyland 3-and-4-day Passes – $178 (3 day) and $198 (4 day)

These tickets can be found at local military installation ticket offices.

Kings Dominion

Active and retired military can get discount tickets to the Kings Dominion theme party year-round. During the Memorial Weekend Salute, free admission is even offered to military members with a valid ID card to the Virginia park.

Other places offering free admission and discounts include:

  • Kings Island – Free from May 26th to 29th
  • National Park Service
  • Busch Gardens, Sesame Place, SeaWorld – Free through the Waves of Honorary program
  • Blue Star Museums
  • The Bronx Zoo
  • New York Aquarium
  • Valley Fair
  • CheapAirportParking.org
  • Penske
  • MONI Smart Security
  • Lowe’s
  • Westgate Resorts
  • Sears
  • And More!

Make sure to ask local businesses if they are offering discounts for Military Appreciation Month.
