Educational Planning For Enlistment

June 23, 2008 By admin

Enlisting in the Armed Forces is one of the best methods of providing for your education. It is very important to make a workable plan when you want to attend college, it does not have to overwhelm a person. As you examine the options available in educational support in the Armed Forces you are faced with different educational choices also. You have to be willing to sit down and write down on paper what you wish to accomplish. What do you want to accomplish in your educational goals? Where do you want to be in five years? What do you want to have accomplished in ten years? These are some of the type of things you have to plan for in order to have an effective educational plan.

What is the ultimate goal or activity that you want to be working in for your life? This may seem like a simple idea, but many people just have not taken the time to do this, and because of this they never get past the first steps. There are a lot of different decisions to make, but if you want to reach and realize your educational goals you have to break them down into manageable smaller goals. If you know where you want to be, then you can make an effective written plan. There are several different issues that you should be careful to take note of:
Talk to a trained Advisor- These are issues that should be talked about with people that are close to you that can properly advise you in issues and educational planning. Speak to relatives, talk to your teachers, and seek out other people that are in the educational field. You may choose to reach out to a recruiter to talk about educational funding and military training options. After talking to a recruiter, look at other methods of education funding, and put down some options on paper. It is a good idea to take a friend with you when you talk to the recruiter.
Consider the Buddy System-If you are certain that you want to sign up for military enlistment, find a buddy to sign up with you at the same time. There are advantages to signing up and progressing through military enlistment with a friend, there are programs designed for a person and a partner to go through boot camp and even technical school together.

Speed Kills- Each person is different, and everyone’s educational goals are not the same. You can accomplish a great deal if you start early and work steadily. But don’t rush, you can make a lot of mistakes if you rush. Take your time, and plan your path deliberately.
