Enlisted Army Rock Quarry Jobs

The US Army has a large number of jobs and military ratings that are not standard types of jobs. While it may seem different or quirky, each of these types of jobs are important in their own way to keep the United States Military successful in their overall mission and military Readiness. One of these types of jobs is the US Army Rock Quarry Specialist. It is a job that involves dealing with aggregate type of rock and building materials, both in obtaining them out of the ground or quarry, and in using them in a wide variety of specific purposes.

The US Army maintains and remodels facilities on an ongoing basis, around the clock, 365 days a year. They are in the construction business, both in building and construction new facilities, and in construction and building of many different types of jobs. In the war on Terror, the US Army Quarry specialist has been used a lot overseas in both Afghanistan and in Iraq, because there has been a large need for the types of products that these service Personnel have been able to provide. Construction occurs every single day of the year in the Army, they are always building or constructing something, and working in an Army Quarry Specialist job is one that has a lot of variety in it. The equipment that will be your daily tools will be involved in various pumping, digging, ditching, and auguring and compaction type duties. You will learn general principals of construction, construction principals, and the repair and operation of various types of construction equipment.

Serving in this type of job specialty is one that will allow you to apply to participate in the Army Apprenticeship program. Because this is a construction type job, you may be able to claim as much as 50 percent of the Civilian requirement for civilian apprenticeship while serving on Active Duty in the US Army. You will learn and be able to operate special purpose equipment such as air compressors, drills, scrapers, and other large grading equipment. Despite being a Quarry specialist, you may wind up being detailed to work on any number of construction type projects dealing with rock or aggregate quarry materials. These allow you to gain valuable civilian credit while working at your military job.

You will be utilized to help build and construct literally anywhere in the world, both in the United States and overseas, that the Army operates. You will be trained on using General Construction equipment. Roads, Dams, Airfields, and various types of buildings all use quarry type materials.
