Working as an Army electrician is a position that requires a lot of training. You will be taught in the classroom and in simulated field experiences about electrical safety procedures, proper techniques used in wiring junction boxes, outlets, electrical services and switches, as well as the fundamentals of electricity and electronic circuits. Army Electrical maintenance and installation personnel work to use test equipment to perform routine and period circuit testing, and to inspect and repair broken and malfunctioning electrical services. Electricity is used by the Army to perform many jobs, including lighting facilities such as hospitals and clinics, electricity powers computers and data storage devices. You will be taught how to diagnose a variety of electrical circuits and wiring arrangements, and how to troubleshoot and solve electrical system malfunctions. The Army Interior Electrician is a person who is tasked to make sure that equipment and electrical services that require electricity are kept in high readiness, and top running condition. Job training for Army Electricians and Interior Electrical service personnel starts with 9 weeks of basic combat training followed by 6 weeks of individual advanced training. The need for electricity and electrical equipment is high in the Army; nearly everything is run on some sort of electrical power. You will work as an Army Electrician to assemble wiring plans and blueprints to repair electric service and install new branch circuits, as well as using hand tools to install circuit breakers, junction boxes, and wiring transformers.
