Enlistment Army Benefits

March 29, 2008 By admin

When you join the Army you will have a number of benefits that are available to you. Some of these benefits are better known than others, and some are very well known to most people. The amount and kind of benefits that you have as a member of the Armed Forces, and specifically when you join the Army are benefits that would be hard to duplicate in the outside world, with a job or career. The main thrust of importance for the Army in modern times is its personnel, and the Army has come to realize how important that it is to keep its people in good spirits, and keep morale up. Part of this is making sure that people who join the Army have a number of benefits to help encourage enlistment and also to retain people to re enlist.

Several of the benefits that you would be eligible for when you join the Army includes:
Education- As a member of the Army you are eligible to use the full Montgomery GI Bill. There are benefits both for when you get out of the Army, and Tuition Assistance and Army benefits for education while you are still serving on active duty. You can check out all the different benefits and education opportunities, but it is well known that it is lucrative to join the military if you want to get help to pay for college.

Health Care: As an enlisted person in the Army, you have coverage for yourself, and for your dependents. Most families are covered under the TriCare health military plan. This coverage is specifically designed to give complete coverage to the Servicemember and their dependents, and their family.

Leave and Vacation Time: Every person who service in the Armed Forces receives Four weeks off a year, with pay. There are not a lot of civilian jobs that allow a person in their first year of service to have 30 days off with pay, but the Army, as well as its sister military services, does. You can arrange leave and take off to anywhere you like for 30 days, and then still be able to receive full pay and benefits while you are on vacation.

Miscellaneous- There is a number of other benefits, some of which a person may never use, and others that maybe very lucrative. If you like to travel and you are patient, then you can use the Armed Forces Space Available method of transportation, it is free on a space available basis for use by Servicemembers.
