If there are a few constants in the world, it is that you will need to eat, drink and sleep. The kinds of things that you put into your body will have a huge impact in your ability to do your best every day. In the case of the United States Coast Guard personnel member, it is even more important to pay attention to what you are eating so that you will be able to make sure that you are performing at your optimal level. This is why the job of the Food Service Specialist is so important.
What You Will Do
When you work in this specialized career you will be responsible for making sure that all meals are prepared correctly and to the standards which will help each and every personnel member to operate at their full potential. You will be expected to cook for personnel on larger cutters as well as preparing meals for officers or other members of the USCG at base locations.
Get the Training
You will be taught how to cook on a basic level. You will also be taught how to convert standard recipes so that they will be able to feed all of the members of your unit.
