Often there is no official "mailing list" persay - from what we understand, "lists" are bought, and are sometimes outdated. Often individual recruiting offices purchase these lists, and for instance you could possibly be receiving mail intended for someone that used to live at your address. Or it could be originally intended for someone with your name in your area, but they somehow got your address on it. Just throw it away when it comes...
