Scamming in the name of the military

As if our soldiers don't have enough to deal with, here recently I have been getting emails from an alledged enlisted man named Sgt. Eric Richards suggesting I listen on behalf of him and his family. Here it is word for word:

I have tried to contact someone to look into this awful attempt on behalf of a "soldier" and have of course reported it as a phishing scam. I even forwarded this to a few news stations. Just beware of this kind of thing if you come across it. If you know any soldiers with this name please let them know what's going on.
