It depends. Has he already sworn in? Nothing is 100% final until he gets on that bus that takes him to the airport. However, he may just be having cold feet. I joined at 17 and it was the best thing personally, that I ever did. My husband joined at 18. The life is not for everyone, and if he is really worried about what he has done, have him talk to the CO for the recruiting station he DEP-ed into.
