Smile My Hero

I just wanted to thank all the brave women and men that have fought for our freedom. Freedom is not just a word but an actual meaning, it's to be able to live, to love, to be who ever you want to be, to say whatever you want to say without being ritaculed, punished, or beat. My grandpa was in World War II, and the stories he has told me has softened my heart and he is MY HERO. I was too young to understand when I was little but now that I am older my eyes have opened and have seen how brave each person is who serves our country, how much they love there families, knowing that they might have to give up their own life for them. Life is so short and we should really take the time and give thanks for what we do have and shower our family and friends with love.

Many of us grew up with talk of the VietNam war and how it impacted us and those around us.... But we were little kids and it meant very little to us unless we actually lost a dad or grandfather to that war.

Once grown we had no war for many years, so it still didn't effect us like it should. Now that we are grown, and have had TWO wars in the last two decades, and have lost friends our age, brothers, fathers, uncles and sons we understand more clearly than ever the price of war.

The military serving today are heroes and should be thanked and recognized often!
