Default How to say thanks so a soldier know we mean it?

Is there a better way than just saying it? We send supplies over, write letters, meet you when you come home. Is there anything else we can do so that you know we appreciate your work?

I think if you see them in a restaurant, you can offer to pay for their meal.

I think the way we could show them that we appreciate them is by acknowledging them when we see them. It's just about a simple hello.

I have been at airports, and if I see them, I offer my hand in thanks, and tell them so.

Oh I just wanted to say this is a really great idea! I live near Fort Campbell and for some reason I tend to get in line at convenience stores behind soldiers.

I definitely will be offering to pay for their selection the next time.

By the way, sometimes I think catching their eye and a little nod of the head says it all!

Even if you don't support the war, let a soldier know that you support them!

Here in our offices we do the same things - if they call for something on the phone we make sure we thank them for doing their job. If I see them at the bagel place (which I do often) I thank them there as well... They ALWAYS seem to appreciate it. It's the right thing to do whether you agree with the war or not...

Salute to them when we met them.

Many of them feel that the people don't support them, I think saying hello, and a simple thanks means a lot.

For me saying hi and hellos will not recognize them as what really they are because we can say it to anyone we met right. I think doing something that can merely recognize them will much better.
