Default Escalator Injuries

While most people go up and down without a problem, there were approximately 11,000 escalator related injuries last year.

10 percent of accidents occur when hands, feet or shoes are trapped in escalators. Soft sided shoes are the most likely to get stuck. Clogs and slides are particularly prone.

I worked with a lady that lost her balance on an escalator, it took her a couple of months to recover from the
injuries.

Really! Injuries can happen anywhere, but I would of never guessed that there were that many escalator related injuries in one year alone. I did not enjoy taking my kids to the mall when they were younger because my youngest of the two would always give me grief about getting on the escalator. She was really frightened by it for some reason so we would have to take the elevator. Good thing she's older and has out grown being afraid of the escalator.
