Default Funeral Protests

The latest protest is at SFC Charles Jones in London,KY.

The Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka,Ks. are protesting.

Some of thier slogans sre: Thank God For 9/11......Thank God for Dead Soldiers.

I don't understand why they protest like this. Any of you have any thoughts on this????.

Angry Protestors are jerks

I think the protestors need to stay out of everyone else's business. Those Soldiers are fighting for our freedom and lives once again. Those people need to respect that. If they have an opinion about the war, they need to keep it to themselves or talk amongst each other. But to go to someone's funeral and say "Thank god for dead soldiers." is just childish and disrespectful. You are dealing with people who just lost someone they love to the war in Iraq. Protestors just make it a lot harder for the people to deal with. And it's not like protesting at a soldier's funeral is going to stop the War. That's not the peoples' decision. If they want to throw a fit about it, they need to go to the president, secretary of Defense, congress, or someone who is a major reason we are over there.

I also believe they have alot of nerve protesting at the funerals of the young Amish girls in Penn. this week - I understand they are the same group. I feel they have no right to invade the lives of those trying to greive and bury their dead. They are crossing the line, no matter WHOSE funeral it is.

As of right now Fred Phelps ,Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) has cancelled the protest of the Amish girls funeral.

They have a web site and I will try to get it on here so you can see the type of people that do these protests.

Aaaahh they cancelled the Amish protest - Hooray!

The site for those people would be very interesting - we could possibly express our own thoughts there. Thanks DaDawg!

The slogan "Thank God For 9/11......Thank God for Dead Soldiers" is a great insult to all the families of those soldiers who died in war. Hope protesters will realize that.

When you have a country where freedom of speech is part of people's rights, you can't do anything but just let them be and let them say whatever it is that they wish to say.

They protest and use those slogans based on their belief that God is allowing our soldiers to be killed as punishment for the sins of the United States. They also carry God Hates Fags signs. Actually they usually make their very young children carry those signs.

I'm not sure that I've seen any signs for it at protests but they also use the slogan God Hates America.

Thank God for 911 refers to their feelings that 9-11 was just like Sodom & Gomorrah.

Its probably the sickest thing I've seen in my lifetime.

They won't last long. They are cl***ified as a hate group by the Anti-Defamation League, and rightfully so. People like that can't go on peacefully protesting for ever. They will snap and then something will be done about them.

Its just sad.
