Default Hi, I'm new!!!

Well, I'm new to this...army and blogging. I'm about to be heading to fort hood and i was wondering, why doesnt the army offer more houses on post, i mean fort hood is THE largest base in the states yet junior enlisted for a 2bd house wait time is 9-10 months!!!! why?! The army has lots of perks and great rewards but this is a real big deal. just wondering if anyone had any responses or similar concerns.

Hey welcome to you armwife1314!!! Well - housing shortages on base for the low guys and gals on the totem pole? We have not heard alot about that issue to tell the truth. I would be interested in knowing if it is that way on all the bases.... so to answer your question, no we are not up on that topic, but will be soon now that you have brought it to our attention!

But regardless, we are glad to have you!

Default Housing Shortage

Well not only is it really sad waiting for on post housing, its also a little difficult to get decent "army" affordable housing. We have a 2-year old son and I dont want to live in a run down area just because we can afford it on BAH. This is our first move and YAY! we're buying a mobile home...did you know that the army will move your mobile home for FREE yes free, as long as its in conus. If its not in conus rent it out, there's always a military family around a base that needs a nice safe place to call "home".

There's always a deserving military family around the base looking for a nice place to call home.
