Unhappy Mildy depressed from missing my marine...

Hi, my name is Brittany. I'm currently in love with my longtime highschool sweetheart boyfriend...PFC Logan *********...a proud Marine.
He is going to be stationed in Pensacola, FL for school for the next 13 months and I am currently living in Orlando, FL...approximately a six hour drive away.
I am surfing the net looking for girls or women in my position.
I am 18...I'll be nineteen in a few months and I've been happily dating him for almost three years...since highschoool. He joined the Marines last October and I am now somewhat "adjusted" to my new lifestyle but I am still somewhat depressed and having trouble coping.
Due to the fact that I have no real family, he is my everything and I'm just seeking some sympathy, empathy, support, tips, ANYTHING to help me through this.

Hey Brittany - we sure are sorry to hear you are a little down. I guess you could say we are lucky here in the office where we run this forum - none of us has a mate overseas at the moment. But it can be hard for someone as young as yourself and there are tons of places on the internet where you can visit with others in the same situation. This is one of them, but I've also put some links below in case you haven't seen those sites yet too.

But be really careful - even tho we are all law abiding citizens that don't have a mean bone in our bodies and wish no harm to anyone, there are those out there that might have the inclination to be less than upstanding. When you participate in a forum, make sure you never divulge your full name - in this case you have only posted your guy's name and I'm editing that right now, but just beware! We are just concerned for the safety of everyone that visits our forums!

You take care of yourself and keep your chin up! Your boyfriend is doing an important job and he needs your support and motivation! Good Luck to you!

These are all good starting points for much more....

Hey Brittany! Congratulations to your boyfriend on joining the military, but there is no need for you to be depressed. I understand him being away may cause some loneliness, especially since you say you have no real family but that's where friends come in, to occupy your time. Those sites that Wackychick gave you should help and bring a little bit of comfort, but if for some reason you can't find comfort in those you can always keep a journal. You know for when you start feeling a bit depressed or lonely due to him being away. You can write and jot down your feelings, things you want to do with him when he returns. Or even just writing like your writing to your BF on a daily basis just to keep him updated. You can even take up scrapbooking! Now, that will definitely keep your mind preoccupied and take up alot of your free time. Anyway, good luck to you and hope you keep us posted!
