Default Greetings all!

My name is Chris Doyle, 37 y/o and I served my country from 92'-95' in the Army in a Patriot Battery. I was first stationed in Bitburg, Germany. (Air Force base) That was a great base, til it closed down. It forced my Battalion to relocate to Hanau, Germany. I then had a taste as to what an Army base was like. Needless to say, we all missed Bitburg! Not to mention that Bitburg Beer was manufactured there.

Some time after that, we got orders to go to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. My wife was pregnant at the time, and I would have rather stayed in Germany. But duty calls and I ****ed it up and went. I wasn't happy about it, but of course orders are orders. (Not that I had a choice) It was a great experience though. Those 6 months really solidified us soldiers. In a way it made us a "Band of Brothers". Having to endure everything that happens when your unit gets deployed.

Any-hoo, I'm happy to be on-board with all of you, and looking forward to corresponding with my fellow "Band Of Brothers". (Which of course in my opinion is the greatest war film ever.

Peace,
Patriotpride16t

I am proud to say that I am a stay-at-home dad! I have a 5yo boy, a 3yo boy , and 1 girl due in October. Talk about a stressful job, the Army was easy!! I am Mr. Mom: I cook, clean, laundry, foodshopping, and of course take care of the little ones. Its the hardest, yet most satisfying "job" I ever had!

That's great! Not many in your shoes, and I salute you for it! As a stay/work at home mom to two teenaged girls (about to graduate!) I can relate to that "job" - it IS tough AND satisfying! BUT, with that said, I still don't think I could have ever made the grade in the military!
