Wow - Native Americans Traced to 6 "Founding Mothers"

This is astounding. Found this today and had to share:

Nearly all of today's Native Americans in North, Central and South America can trace part of their ancestry to six women whose descendants immig***** around 20,000 years ago, a DNA study suggests.

Those women left a particular DNA legacy that persists to today in about 95 percent of Native Americans, researchers said.

This is kind of off the subiect, but my aunt married a Native American and when they had children they had to have a ceromony for them to enter his family tribe. Cool I guess...

Very very interesting, I too am Native American. I have a question for chefgirl? What tribe is your aunt's husband from? I have never heard of tribes having ceremonies for non natives to enter! What does "enter" mean exactly?
