Default When Sports Announcers Say Dumb Things

When Sports announcers say dumb things, Do they think before blurting it out?

Tom Jackson asked Michael Irvin that question in 2006. He later apologized to viewers.

"Lynch Him in a Back Alley"
Golf Channel anchor Kelly Tilghman gained notoriety when she suggested young golfers might want to take Tiger Woods and "lynch him in a back alley."

Sean Taylor's Death "Isn't Surprising"
PTI talking head and Washington Post columnist Michael Wilbon drew fire when he declared himself "not the least bit surprised " about Sean Taylor's death.

They should keep it about the sports instead of wasting their breath on dumb things.

Well after reading these quotes I would have to say NO! I honestly don't think they put much thought into it before blurting it out. Obviously if they did, they would know that words such as these can be hurtful or offensive. As a child I remember when people were being negative my mother would say "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all" and apparently these are words that need to be instilled in alot of these sports announcers.
