Default US Teen Saved Lives in Congo Jet Crash

The 14-year-old daughter of missionaries from Minnesota acted fast Sunday after the plane carrying her family slammed into a Congolese neighborhood. Standing before a crack too small to crawl through as the jet burned, she turned to the man next to her. "Let's open this crack," she said in Swahili, "otherwise, we're going to die." The two tore the crack open and created a hole that dozens fled through.

Wow, what a smart girl! It's amazing how she was able to focus and stay calm enough to get through an ordeal such as that.
