Question

I'll be graduating college in 2009 and plan on joining the Army as an environmental scientist officer in the Medical Service Corps, I am 6 ft tall and weigh 216lbs and I have about a 35 inch waist, does anyone think I would have trouble getting in??? I'm also a little flat footed, is that a big concern? I use arch supports sometimes when running to help it out..

Have you not spoken to any recruiters yet? They could tell you for sure. I would think that if you know you are joining and what job you will be doing, that you have p***ed the point of being unsure about whether height and weight would have any bearing on your enlistment. You should really speak to a recruiter, better yet, YOUR recruiter, who can answer those questions for you since time is running out!
Good Luck!

Default Army weight

For the Army at 74 inches you can be 211lbs with 24% body fat if you go over, not to exceed 30%, you would have to take a test to see if you can get in.

You can exceed the weight requirements, as long as you are below the bodyfat content requirments as they measure it.
You can get an idea of how you are doing by using the Bodyfat Content Worksheet available on APFT.net. Good Luck on the weight loss.
