Default is weight an issue?

I have been seriously considering joining the military but I am not yet decided on what branch, also I am concerned that my weight will be an issue. I am 6 feet 2 inches tall and weigh 300 pounds, Im a big boy. I am not as athletic as most people. Wil my weight get in the way of me joining the military?

That is a good question. You might want to run that one by an actual recruiter - they would know the answer to that question for sure. Have you tried that yet? Clearly, they need you on the football team, athletic or not!!! ;-)

Yes weight is an issue. I'm trying to get into the Army and my recrutier said you have to be at 30% body fat. I'm 5'6" tall and 207lbs, I have to lose some before I get in. He told me to lay off the white breads and potatoes, also as I started doing is 75 push-ups, 30 sit-ups, and walk at least a mile every other day. Of course don't over do it at fisrt. I went from 207lbs to 201lbs in 5 days. Hope this helps good luck!!

74 inches (6'2") 214 is your ma* for the Air Force or 20% body fat.

Default Height & Weight requirements

Where can I find height and weight requirements for different branches of the military without visiting a recruiter's office? I know I need to drop a few pounds before enlisting and I would like to drop as much as possible before visiting a recruiter.

Yeah they look at weight, You have to be size proportionate. If you were athletic then i think you would stand a better chance. so I think the military might not be for you.

Thoug you have a good height but your weight can be a issue. But it too depends on where you apply for. Somewhere it can be take into consideration
