BUDDY program questions

My husband was in the military from 2002-2005 and his contract isnt up till 2010 When his Army program is up he wants to Rejoin another service with a family friend of ours under the buddy program. We would like to complety make the military our life for the next 20yrs+ and have our Friend with us the entire time. We have a large family and our friend is married as well. Is their any way to do the buddy program to last for that length of time.
