Employment Status: Full Time
Location: Kabul, Afghanistan

Major Duties & Responsibilities:
As the Project/Program Manager, the individual must demonstrate the ability to manage, coordinate, and motivate people to maintain high standards. Be able to supervise multiple projects and subordinates at one time in both the office and jobsite environments.
The Project/ Program Manager will be responsible for managing VIAPs operations in Afghanistan. The applicant will lead a team of 30-50 local national, third country national, and expatriate engineers and construction inspectors toward the common goal of providing quality ***urance support at all active AFCEE project sites in Afghanistan.

Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture and/or possesses equivalent experience in Professional Construction Management

• The applicant’s technical knowledge should include site preparation, water/wastewater, electrical, cooling, heating, building codes, construction drawings reading, construction techniques; a comprehensive professional knowledge of the entire planning and construction phases.

Experience:
• The position requires a mature individual with strong interpersonal skills with 10+ years of Construction/Project Management experience in general civil engineering.

Work Location:
• The applicant must be willing to relocate and live and travel within Afghanistan.
• Prior work experience with the DOD as an employee or contractor in the international arena is desired. US military experience is desirable but not required.

Key Skills:
• Fluent in written & spoken English, computer literate

• The successful candidate should be equipped with a professional attitude and is able to deal directly and communicate effectively with DOD clients and a multi-cultural staff both in oral and written English.

• Deal successfully with various personalities, cultures and all levels of management
• Possess a working knowledge of cost and schedule ****ysis and resolution
• Ability to ensure the contractors’ compliance with the specifications, drawings and contract conditions
• Trainable and possess the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Possess excellent project and time management skills, schedule and progress monitoring/reporting
• Have good organizational and managerial skills and be able to organize and run team meetings
