Default Band members connect with Bishkek music students

Members of the U.S. Air Forces Central Band Hot Br*** treated approximately 200 students and faculty of the Bishkek College of Music to the sounds of rock 'n' roll, disco, country and cl***ical music during a performance March 26 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

The traveling Air Force band, which is deployed to the AFCENT area of responsibility from Scott AFB, Ill., performed songs from top artists in the United States like Stevie Wonder, Santana, Asleep at the Wheel and the Beatles.

As lead vocalist, Staff Sgt. Jamie Gilley asked the packed auditorium if they knew each of the artists, the thunderous applause served as an emphatic yes.

"These students are studying our music, past and present. I did not do that until later in life, but they are doing it early," Sergeant Gilley said.

This is a great story - Music has no boundries. Read it all here.

That's pretty awesome! Usually it is the other way around and our US Troops get the privelege of having bands and musicians perform for them. Way Cool ~ Way to go Air Force!
