Default US Army education requirements to join?

Hello Ladies & Gents.

I will start of by saying even as an Englishman I love the American Military especialy the US Army and I will one day fulfill my dream in joining. But I have a question.

What are the education requirements to join? Here in the UK you can sign up to our Army with an education background less than a Squirrel. So when I do move to America (Eventualy) would my UK education count for anything?
Or Aslong as I can tell the difference between allies and the enemy, fire a rifle straight and breeze through training I should be fine?.

Would it boost my chances in joining if my knowledge of American history is grade a material? (American revolution and all that)

Cheers.

P.S

I understand you need to be an American citizen first before joining. That much is obvious.

As far as the educational achievements/credits crossing over from the one country to the other, I've never heard exactly how that would work. But as far as the educational requirements to join (ie if you WERE educated here and are a citizen etc.) is a high school diploma being the minn, and I believe there are programs and/or conditional requirements for persons with a GED (the equivalent) that would allow enlistment. The more education you have, the more they like it, and the further it will get you when you enlist.

And never hestiate to find an army recruiter here in the states that you can talk to or email - they know ALL this stuff and an really be helpful when planning what your next move should be.

Keep us posted!
Good luck to you!
