The cutter Maui, originally homeported in Miami, Fla., is one of six U.S. Coast Guard patrol boats ***igned to Patrol Forces Southwest Asia in Bahrain as part of Combined Task Force 158. The Coast Guard units conduct maritime security operations that help set the conditions for security and stability in the Arabian Gulf, help protect Iraq's sea-based infrastructure and help provide the Iraqi people the opportunity for self-determination.
