Red face Soon to Be Marine Wife

My fiance is stationed at Camp Lejeune and is currently serving in Iraq. We're planning our wedding for his return. I'm a military brat (Army) and I know some of what goes into being a military spouse. I've lived on posts all over the country and I'm comfortable with the lifestyle. That being said, I was wondering if anyone could give me any insight as to the workings (non- OPSEC ofcourse) of a Marine Corps installment, as well as a wife's "role". I just want to make sure I know everything I can take advantage of and groups that I can join. I've always been a member of the FRG but I'm not sure how it works in the Corps. Thank you all so much! Well I was hoping someone would pick up the ball on this one, but I guess no one can! None of us here are marine wives, nor do we have any marines "around" to pick their brains for this one. We would suggest you try some of the info you'll find at http://www.militaryhomefront.dod.mil/ - this is a great all purpose web site for stuff like this and will at least get you started. Good Luck to you!

Hey Nicole! My husband and I are stationed at Camp Lejeune. There are so many different ways to be "part" of the military community! When you get married, I suggest doing the LINKS training. It is an incredible cla$$es that gives invaluable information about opportunities, a$$istance, and the basic ins and outs of the Marine Corps lifestyle! And after you're comfortable with the life, try the Key Volunteer Program. We're responsible for keeping the wives in the unit up to date on any events and ESPECIALLY what's going on during deployments. Not to mention, you generally meet some great women that are all sharing the same experiences you are!

If you have any questions, or need anything, just let me know!
