Free Military College Prep Test Now Available.

August 28, 2008 By admin

Serving in the Military is a rewarding and financially supportive career for many Servicemembers. But sometimes there are different costs that a military family runs into; especially for Servicemembers that have large families or several colleges bound kids. Sometimes it is the Servicemember themselves or their spouse that is eying attending college or University, and that will need to take the ACT or SAT test. There is a new program that is available for Service Members to obtain free study software. The National Football League Players association has made a grant, each of the last two years, to provide for study SAT software and materials for Servicemembers, and their families who need to study for the SAT, the scholastic aptitude test.

Check out Scholarships That Are Available!

Part of the routine in applying for College or University entrance in the United States, as well as institutions overseas is to have a valid SAT score. Taking the SAT test is almost a rite of passage, and having a high score often is the difference in being accepted to the school of your choice, or being politely but firmly rejected. There is now study software that is being made available, and this is the second year in a row that the software has been accessible. This software is being made available in a generous grant from NFL players. Players this year have pledged ten million dollars, with more promised in the future.

The software is being made available through the eKnowledge Corporation, which has received sponsorship from the NFL players association. Together the NFL players have joined with eKnowledge to create the US Military Servicemembers SAT/ACT test program preparation study materials. It is a program that offers software and study materials for Servicemembers, their Spouses, and their families. It started in 2006 and the funds donated the first year amounted to nearly $6 million dollars. The program started as an effort by NFL players that wanted to show their support for the US military in a real and meaningful way. After the success of the first year, the NFL Players decided that they would increase their sponsorship, after the program assisted several thousand Servicemembers and their families with their SAT/ACT test preparation. Each of the software packets and study materials is worth about $200 dollars, and it gives the Servicemember or military family member an Interactive CD or DVD software, as well as other workbooks and test preparation materials.
