There is always the possibility that something will happen to any personnel member of the United States Military. This can be a very hard time for the family who has suffered the loss of a loved one. The US Government understand and has made sure that there are many different benefits which are in place to help out through Memorial Benefits for family members after they have lost their loved one. It is important that you know what is in place whether you are serving or the family of a service member.

Theer are several different scenarios which will qualify your family to receive $100,000 from the US Military regardless of what SGLI life insurance policy there may already be in place. Chief among the qualifying circumstance is when the death occurs while the service member is in active duty, in route to active duty, or returning from active duty. Accidents during training exercises will also qualify for this benefit.

Military Burial


Burial costs can be very expensive. There are provisions set aside which will help you to bury your loved one properly and there is the possibility of being buried alongside many other brother-in-arms at Arlington National Cemetery among other military burial locations. The rank and honors bestowed upon the deceased will determine the burial benefits they will qualify for.
