When you think about the United States Air Force, the first thing likely to come to mind are the state of the art aircraft which are used to fly missions around the world. This is because they are well known for the aircraft that they fly and the capability to support all branches of the military anywhere in the world as well as the ability to launch important missions. Of course without quality, reliable vehicles on the ground, the aircraft would never make it into the air.
What You Will Do
When you work as a US Air Force vehicle maintenance control and analysis apprentice, you will be in charge of maintaining the efleet of vehicles used for everything from arming the aircraft to taxiing aircraft into place. You will not actually do the maintenance, you will just make sure that all of the vehicles are being scheduled for maintenance and that they are going through the right maintenance schedules.
Fixing the Vehicles
Making sure that the vehicles being used in the USAF is very important. This is why regular maintenance is performed. This helps to prevent damaging problems which can cause the vehicle to be out of commission for long stretches of time. If a vehicle should break down, your crew wil be able to troubleshoot the problems and get it back into rotation very quickly.
