Great Jobs for Women Chaplains in the Air Force

May 11, 2011 By admin

Women who are interested in serving both God and their country at the same time should consider a career in the United States Air Force as a chaplain. Being a chaplain in the Air Force offers women the opportunity to serve in the military while helping out individual soldiers and their families.

What You Will Do

Women who are looking to be chaplains can come from many religious affiliations. The common tie that binds these women is the desire to perform the duties of providing spiritual guidance to those who give themselves to serve our country. These women can serve as chaplains in military hospitals, bases, and even areas where soldiers have been deployed over seas.

Get the Training

The women who obtain positions as chaplains in the Air Force generally come from backgrounds where they have already received training and have been ordained in their religion of choice. Many of these women come from seminaries and religious colleges where they received the training they need to hold the position of chaplain.

While some of the women who become Air Force chaplains have been active ministers or the head of their church prior to enlisting, some have not. Some women who take a position as a chaplain have been newly ordained and move into a position as an Air force chaplain through educational incentives and training. The women who serve as chaplains, no matter how much previous experience they have had, can serve here in the U.S. or anywhere where Air Force personnel have been stationed or deployed.
