Information for Women Joining the Navy

March 15, 2011 By admin

Are you a woman interested in joining the Navy? Don?t let anybody tell you that the Navy is only for men ? this is not true now and never will be in the future. This career path is exciting, challenging, rewarding, and much more. If you are interested in serving your country this is one of the best ways of doing so. This holds true no matter if you are a man or a woman.

If you are a woman interested in learning more about joining the Navy, click here to request additional information.

Not Just for Men

It is hard to imagine that so many people believe that the Navy is only for men. A woman can get involved with the Navy in a number of different ways. No matter what you are interested in, chances are that you can find a career that suits you well. Imagine this: women work in jobs including Naval Reactors Engineer, Electronics Technician, Aviation Warfare Specialist, Naval Aviator, Explosive Ordinance Disposal Technician, and Navy Diver among many others.
Many people think of these positions for men only, but in today?s Navy nothing could be further from the truth.

What are your Interests?

One of the main advantages for women in the Navy is that they can find a job that suits their interests. No matter what you are interested in there is a career opportunity that will suit you well. Some of the most popular career categories include Public Affairs, Intelligence, Human Resources, Health Care, and Information Technology ? and that is just the start. No matter if you are interested in computers or love working with your hands, you can find a job that suits your style.

Did you know that most jobs can be had without any past experience? As long as you meet the basic requirements and are willing to go through some training, you are in position to take full advantage of this great opportunity.

The skills that you learn in the Navy will help you excel now and in the future. In short, your training will never leave you.

Education is Important

The Navy requires that all members have a high school diploma or GED for all enlisted positions. Along with this, a four year degree is a must for those interested in Officer positions. As noted above, both types of positions are available to women in the Navy. Some people are interested in enlisted careers for the hands on work and high level of training. Others, though, would rather strive for an officer position because they have a college education and are interested in leading others.

It is a shame that many women believe they are unable to join the Navy. Now that you have this information you know differently. The Navy is a place for everybody ? men and women!
