Coalition Trained Forces Maintain Security In Region
The Iraqi Army maintains the security in many areas of Iraq, and they are gaining responsibility for more area all the time. The Iraq Army has trained a number of different Scout units, that have worked hard behind the scenes to perform reconnaissance and security in advance of the regular Army. They exhibit a quiet determination, and professionalism that is beginning to be the watch word for the Iraq Security Forces.
Their training has been supplemented by real world experience, dealing with security side by side with coalition forces over the last two years. The members of the Iraqi Scout units have grown and progressed until now they are mounting security raids and operations on their own.
The Iraq Army Scouts have in some cases been training for the last six years. Most of their training has been at the side of Coalition Marine Corps and US Special Forces members, who have taught the Iraqi Scouts a great deal of different tactics, and various operation procedures that they now use to deal with day to day assignments.
Recently they took part in a joint live fire training exercise with members of the Coalition, in training meant to simulate terrorist targets in an urban environment.
Because of their training, they will be able to deal with whatever challenges they encounter after the Coalition withdraws from the Iraq region.
