John Tortorella Bold Comment About Colin Kaepernick Worth Remembering

September 7, 2016 By larryf

Finally, someone other than a man named Trump manned up to the plate with testicular fortitude.

That person would be John Tortorella, Team USA?s soccer head coach. “If any of my players sit on the bench for the national anthem, they will sit there the rest of the game.”

To be clear, I get it that Kaepernick has a problem with racial inequality. I have problems with political issues too. Even on rare occasion, I have issues with my wife. But wouldn?t it be wise to take up these matters up with that individual or organization responsible for that particular problem? My wife certainly agrees with that!

In this case, why the military or even the resemblance of our nation’s military? Do you honestly believe if Mr. Kaepernick was more in touch with the same men and women now serving in Iraq or Afganistan, that he would protest against them? Better yet, if he had a son or daughter serving in the military, would he dishonor their service by sitting?

Regardless, if he?s right in his opinion, it?s the public perception aimed at our military that?s most troubling.

And yes, I do know that Colin Kaepernick jerseys have soared in sales. And yes, I also know that our country?s police are not perfect. But nor am I. Better yet, nor are you. But I?ll take our police department over any other countries any time, any day or any hour.

But in this case, ignorance has no boundaries as the National Anthem and the American flag is largely about our freedom and our honored military. Just ask any soldier!

The truth is that Mr. Kaepernick uses his public domain for division whereas our military men and women choose a stage that?s filled with darting bullets sometimes resulting in their own death. And again, even for people like Kaepernick who dishonor their freedom.

The irony is that it?s the same freedom that Kaepernick would suffer dire consequences in other countries like North Korea. Enough said.

Lastly, doesn?t the Bible even say something about taking our beef direct to the person responsible for the issues that offend us? What a concept.

For me, I prefer the verse in Proverbs, ?There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.?

We need more millionaires who are healers.

So does our men and women representing America?s flag and freedom.
