National Guard Careers: Transportation Jobs

Transportation jobs in the National Guard are a big deal. If you want to help the Guard travel around the world this is the career path for you. From bringing soldiers to battle to providing supplies, you are in charge of a variety of tasks.

The training involved with National Guard transportation jobs starts with 10 weeks of Basic Training. This is the same training that all new members of the Guard must go through.

Soon enough, Advanced Individual Training will start. Depending on your specialty, this training can last anywhere from six to nine weeks.
After a stint in the transportation field of the National Guard you are set for a variety of civilian related careers.

Some of the most common transportation jobs include: cargo specialist, watercraft operator, watercraft engineer, motor transport operator, transportation management coordinator, railway equipment repairer, railway section repairer, and railway operations crewmember.

It is amazing how many people are interested in joining the National Guard in the transportation field. If this is something that interests you, it is time to collect more information so you can decide which specialty is best.
