Navy Enlisted Information Tech Jobs

The Information Technology specialty in the US Navy is one of the most vibrant and fast paced jobs in the entire US Navy. It is a job that is constantly changing as the field of computers and information technology constantly changes, as the technology takes huge leaps forward. Airmen and sailors in the Navy who become Information Technology specialists are experts in their field, capable and intelligent Servicemembers in the field. Navy Airmen and Sailors who work in the Information Technology field work with communications and help provide links between stations on shore and vessels at sea.

Working as an Information Technology Navy Enlisted Specialist is a job that requires a high amount of skill, training and responsibility. You will receive training in electronics, communications and computer specialties, as well as a number of other skills that you will require to serve as a US Navy IT specialist. Working as a Navy IT Specialist you will have one of the premier jobs in the entire Navy Fleet. It is a job with not only a lot of responsibility, but also a job that takes you into interesting and varied situations. With the current situation in the world and the need for Information security and national security, the position of trained Information technology specialist has become an ever increasingly important rating. Some of the topics that you will study include: basic computer theory, computer basic programming as well as basic and advanced electronics theory. Information technologists work to safeguard our nation, help protect our allies, and contribute to force readiness and strength by transmitting, analyzing, compiling and processing a vast array of complex and highly technological material. You will be taught concepts and theories for a variety of Navy systems. After you are done with the military you will progress to the civilian world, you will be attractive as an employee for a variety of civilian companies needing skilled and trained computer information technology people. As you rise in rank you will be responsible for gradually increasing units of responsibility.
