Navy Information and Technology Careers

Let?s face it: in today?s world, information technology is one of the most popular and desirable career fields. This holds true both in the civilian sector as well as the United States Military. This is particularly true in the Navy.

Over the past five to ten years, Navy Information and Technology careers have become increasingly more popular. Not only is this is a great way to serve your country, but once you complete your service you will be well on your way to finding a civilian job that matches your personal wants and needs.

Although there are many benefits of an Information and Technology career, the excitement that this field offers is among the most important. From detecting enemy radar to operating advanced systems, you will be on your toes at all times ? and it doesn?t get any better than that.

On the surface, it may appear that all Information and Technology jobs in the Navy are the same. However, just like every career field there are multiple paths to follow with some of the most popular including: Information Warfare, Computers, Intelligence, Telecommunications, and Cryptology.

Do I need a College Degree?

A college degree is not required to work in the Navy Information and Technology field. That being said, the more education you have the better off you are going to be.

With a college degree, you are in position to take on more responsibility within the Information and Technology field. Along with this, you may qualify to receive special pay and benefits from the Navy while in college. This is the best of both worlds as you can work towards your degree while also receiving financial assistance.

After the Navy

Despite the fact that you will have an enjoyable time serving your country, there will come a time when you need to find a civilian job. Fortunately, with Navy training in the Information and Technology field this can be quite simple.

Take for instance somebody who was a Computer Science professional in the Navy. With all your experience and skills, you will have what it takes to excel in the civilian world.

All of your training will qualify you to apply for the following positions:

– Computer Programmer

– Computer Operator

– Database Administrator

– Computer Systems Administrator

– Data Communications Analyst

– Computer Scientist

– Computer Systems Hardware Analyst

– Electronic Intelligence Operations Specialist

The experience that you gain and the training that you receive will give you the IT knowledge you need to be coveted by civilian employers.

As long as you have a high school diploma and interest in Information and Technology, you are in position to become join this Navy career field.

This is one of the best opportunities to serve your country while doing something you will enjoy.

A career in the Navy Information and Technology field is just what you have been looking for. This is a great way to get involved with a job that you will enjoy while serving your country and preparing for the future.
