Maternity Hospital Received Equipment And Needed Materials
The Medical environment in Iraqi has been improving, but improvements are going slowly but steadily. The hospital located in Western Baghdad recently got some much needed equipment that has worked to assist the rebuilding of that portion of Baghdad.
The coalition recently arrived at the hospital with medical equipment that is worth $600,000 dollars. This was equipment that arrived at a hospital that has not received very much support previous to the surge and arrival of the coalition.
The Al Karkr Maternity Hospital works to provide a lot of the medical care that is needed in Baghdad for patients and expecting mothers. Mothers from throughout the region come to West Baghdad because the Maternity hospital and its quality of care for mothers to be.
Two large truckloads of equipment, medical supplies and needed materials were delivered to the grateful hospital and the supplies will be used almost immediately to help care for patients at the hospital.
In the past the security situation has been poor and supplies that were designated for the hospital were hijacked, and never made it to the hospital. This has led to a delay in delivery of other supplies; the coalition and others have wanted to make sure that there was safety and security before sending additional supplies to the hospital.
There also was a concerted effort by the staff of the hospital this time to keep the arrival information and storage details secret. By keeping things secret until the last moment this helped insure that materials reached the hospital intact.
