Check with a recruiter, but as far as I am aware, Reenlistment bonus for prior service maries is the same as some “re-upping” from the guard or from active army into the guard.

If I enlist with an Associates degree in Psychology and I bring my boyfriend for enlistment can I get the full $20,000 plus extra for him? Will I get enlisted as an E2? And will the Army pay for my student loans for just an Associates or does it only apply for Bachelors degrees? I have tried to contact recruiters but they never answer or return my messages. Thanks 🙂

I’m a little confused… is it true that enlistment bonuses are no longer being given? One of my friends joined 4 years ago and received a $20k bonus. I was recently inquiring about possibly joining the Guard, and was told that no bonuses are being given for enlistment, except for a few certain jobs. Is this true? There is really no bonus for enlistment?? Please advise

I met with a recruiter yesterday (Monday, 8/16/2011). He said that there are no enlistment bonuses right now in California because the great state California is broke. I’m going to call different places up and see what they say -will post again this week.

just spoke with recruiter and confirmed, there’s ZERO incentives being offered currently. if anything they are overstaffed (6k strong according to recruiter i spoke with) and so apparently it doesn’t matter what qualifications you bring to the service. i have college, work history and scored 122 on the ASVAB and all they can offer is discounted tuition if i want to pursue further education. i will contact other recruiters just to make sure it’s 100% but i’m pretty sure that is officially the case as of now.
