Psychological Operations Army Specialist

The Army maintains a very challenging job specialty in the Army of Psychological Operations Specialist. The role of Army Psychological Operations Specialist is one the figures the needs of a specific population of people for important information. It can involve both factual information as well as specific information that serve the needs of the United States. The mission and security of the United States is often such that vital information needs to reach a specific population of people at a specific time and place. The correct message reaching certain populations of people is sometimes necessary to get a response that is important to receive. The role of Army Psychological Operations specialist you will often work as part of the Army special operations corps. You will be a working member of the Special Operations team and serve to further the mission of the Army and of the United States of America.

As an Army Psychological Operations Specialist you will work as a member of the community that deals with specific information and assets, and work to distribute information in support of the Army and United States Mission. Part of the different duties that you may have can involve traveling to different locations both overseas and at home during crisis and conflict. You will assist military and civilian leaders, dealing with different populations of citizens, involved in maintaining the psychological operations to affect different groups of people. You will work to operate different equipment such as loudspeakers, radio and television gear, and analog and digital recording systems. You will work to distribute different material including newspapers, printed materials, and work to research different means to spread information. You will work to spread information and utilize ground and tactical systems. You will work to hand out leaflets, brochures, handbills, posters, as well as participating with different types of media such as blogs, web postings, and radio and television scripts. You will work with both real and factual information, as well as participating in propaganda and dis- information as necessary in support of the United States Security and Army missions as directed.

Training for a Psychological Army Operations Specialist starts with training right after boot camp. Training involves 11 to 15 weeks of advanced training learning about Army Psychological operations. This is a billet that is associated with Special Operations, so you will attend an additional 6 to 9 months of training in other elements of Special Operations training.
