Coalition Provides Supplies And Renders Support Assistance
One of the first humanitarian efforts planned, implemented and conducted by Iraqi Forces has been successfully performed. The Coalition provided the materials and supplies, and accompanied the Iraqi Forces in the effort, but for the most part acted as a support.
A few months ago the area around Shulla was off limits to Coalition and Iraq forces, it was thick with terrorists and insurgents. Now it is open, the members of the community are supportive of the Iraqi Security Forces, and the relationships have gotten much better.
The Iraqi Army has grown, both in experience and in the amount of trust the citizens have. The people were grateful to receive supplies and food, and they chatted happily with the members of the Iraq Security forces that passed out the food and water, and supplies.
Members of the Coalition forces, with the 4th Infantry, MNF Baghdad watched as the Iraqi Army passed out food, bottled clean water and other supplies, and they were quite pleased that they no longer have to plan and implement different operations such as this.
The Iraqi forces that operated giving out these supplies are a positive example to IA Battalions across Iraq, and they are working hard to plan and implement other positive operations such as this. People in the community, as well as members of the Coalition are all starting to see the wisdom and maturity of the Iraq Army.
