About 36,000 Members in Current Citizen Security Organization
The ongoing War on Terror has been slowly coming around in Iraq, and the surge has been part of the history of that success. As the surge increased the number of boots on the ground for the coalition, there began to be a group of citizens that began to make a larger impact. The program is called the Sons of Iraq, and it is listed alongside of the surge as one of the successful gains.
Long-term plans are being formulated so that all of the different positive gains that have been accomplished by the Sons of Iraq and the surge are not lost. There are nearly 36 thousand different members of Iraqi citizens in the Multi National Division. The members of the Sons of Iraq have been a large factor in settling down the region, their service has been brave and helped lead the local citizens to begin to form deeper trust with the coalition soldiers.
The gains that have been made by the Sons of Liberty have allowed people in the region to build trust relationships with other people. The efforts of the Sons of Liberty have allowed the Coalition to focus on rebuilding, and building capacity, and to work toward beginning to improve the quality of life for the region and the citizens of the area.
The Iraqi Police and Iraqi Army are slowly assuming more and more of the responsibilities of the security of the region, and they are being closely assisted by the Sons of Iraq.
