The U.S. Military Needs Your Linguistic Skills

May 5, 2009 By admin

The U.S. military deals with countries all around the world on a daily basis. Prisoner negotiations, trade agreements, intelligence operations and much more all require the skills of talented linguists. If you are able to learn languages and an exciting career appeals to you, the U.S. military is willing to pay for all of your education and training.

You can join the cutting edge world of international business and trade as a skilled linguist and interpreter. Travel the world, at no cost to you, see the sights, meet world leaders and develop a lucrative career, all while earning a salary with a full benefits package and a great retirement plan. Your family will benefit as your build skills and improve your marketability.

International Negotiations Need You

The U.S. military understands the need for clear communication. Often, language barriers cause miscommunications that can have devastating effects. Talented linguists help prevent conflicts by ensuring that cultural, as well as linguistic, differences between nations do not cause problems.

The U.S. military offers state-of-the-art language and cultural training for individuals who have the ability to effectively learn foreign languages and dialects. Gaining awareness of the cultural traditions of another country can aid in negotiations by avoiding needless misunderstandings. You, as a linguist, can work at the cutting edge of international affairs.

Military Careers Offer Many Benefits

Even if you do not currently have foreign language abilities, the military can assess you to determine if you have the natural aptitude necessary to develop a career as a linguist. As soon as you enlist, you will receive a salary, housing, medical benefits and a retirement package that will guarantee the safety and security of your family for years to come. The demand for linguists continues to rise as global markets and foreign affairs touch the lives of everyone.

Your career as a linguist will take you around the world. You will meet people from different cultures, with different ways of life and different perspectives. Your job, as a linguist, will provide the opportunity to make a real difference in the world. As you work, your family will benefit from base housing, shopping, schools and a strong network of military families.

Make The Decision To Develop Your Career As A Linguist

The decision is yours to make. If you are prepared to apply yourself to your studies as a linguist, to learn the cultural differences and the strict code of conduct common to all U.S. military service members, you may be on your way to developing a career that can take you everywhere, literally. The military is prepared to train you, to pay you, to cover your moving expenses and to provide you with a career of relative ease, as you facilitate conversations, negotiations and foreign interactions.

Your job as a linguist will garner you the respect, admiration and appreciation of world military and business leaders as your family enjoys travelling the world, safe and secure in the knowledge that the United States military will provide everything they need. As a linguist for the U.S. military, you will have the best of all worlds, American security and abundance combined with the excitement and variety of the nations of the world.
