In this position you could find yourself preparing breakfast for sailors one day and lunch for a flight crew the next. If you enjoy preparing food this is one position that will put a smile on your face.

If you become a sailor in the Food, Restaurant, and Lodging sector, you will learn a variety of skills ? all of which can be put to good use in a later career. From classroom training to hands-on learning, you will receive top notch advice from the best of the best.

Did you know that you can become part of this community without a college degree? For some people, this is reason enough to consider it as a career.

Emergency, Fire, and Rescue

Provide medical help to those who are injured. Put out fires on ship. Rescue others from danger. When you are part of the Emergency, Fire, and Rescue everyday you go to work you are in the middle of the action. On top of this, you are playing a big role in the safety and well being of other members of the Navy.

No matter what, if you become part of the Emergency, Fire, and Rescue team you must be willing and able to respond to emergencies any time you are called on.

What are my responsibilities as a member of the Emergency, Fire, and Rescue team? As noted above, you will take part in a variety of tasks from providing first aid to extinguishing fires and much more. A short list of your responsibilities include: preventative care, medical treatment, damage control, equipment repair, and firefighting. What do all of these responsibilities have in common? Action!

If you are looking for an exciting position this is the field for you.

One of the main reasons for the popularity of this field is the career opportunities you can take advantage of after leaving the Navy. Emergency, Fire, and Rescue position will prepare you for many jobs including: paramedic, firefighter, surgical technician, emergency medical technician, medical assistant, x-ray equipment tester, pharmacist?s assistant, and nuclear medical technologist among others.

Law Enforcement and Security

Members of the Navy need your help ? they need to stay safe at all times. As part of the Law Enforcement and Security team this will be your job. You are in charge of everything from protecting Navy bases to implementing crime prevention programs.

What are my day to day responsibilities? A few of the things that you will be responsible for include: providing security for all service members; training other sailors on security related issues; crowd control; preventing riots; security advisor; and operating and overseeing military prisons.

The opportunities that lie ahead after serving as a Law Enforcement and Security specialist run deep. After your time in the Navy is complete you will be ready for the following careers, as well as many others: police officer, corrections officer, detective, private investigator, bail enforcement agent, and private investigator.

All of these positions fall within the Service and Safety category. Do you have an interest in one of the following: Food, Restaurant, and Lodging; Emergency, Fire, and Rescue; or Law Enforcement and Security?

If so, now is the time to speak with a Navy recruiter about how to get involved and which position is best for you.
